Keeping pace with criminal actors requires constant innovation and embracing the latest technologies. As a company, Fortra® is committed to following industry-best practices and adheres to responsible and secure use of customer data. We develop AI and ML-powered solutions that improve our products and deliver more protected outcomes for our customers through accurate detection of attacks and malicious behavior, comprehensive protection against a variety of attacks and emerging threats, and by leveraging our understanding of the security threat landscape and the vulnerabilities specific to our customer environments.

Fortra’s Approach to AI/ML

The impact of AI and ML on cybersecurity is significant and growing. However, the sheer pace of innovation and progress in these fields can easily frustrate even experienced developers and product managers who wish to evaluate the applicability of new techniques to their problems. Don’t worry; we’re on it. Fortra’s team of intelligence and research experts are focused on leveraging these innovative technologies to deliver direct security value to our customers. These include:

Machine Learning

The study of computer algorithms that can improve automatically through experience and using data. Algorithms that extract and recognize patterns, learn implicit rules, and make predictions.

Deep Learning

A subfield of ML; covers ML algorithms that use deep (having multiple layers) neural network architectures. The layers are used to extract higher-level features from raw input. By using many layers of transformations, we can do representational learning (automatically find the appropriate way to represent data).

Large Language Models (LLMs)

An LLM is a deep neural network (Transformer architecture) trained on large textual datasets. It treats text as tokens and can make a prediction about (generate) the next token.

Generative AI (Gen AI)

ML systems capable of generating text, images, code, or other types of content, often in response to a prompt entered by a user. In practice, a large (very deep) Transformer model trained on large amounts of data from a specific domain, and given a sequence of tokens (prompt), used to generate new tokens from that domain.

How Fortra Customers Benefit from AI/ML

Fortra actively employs advanced technologies and continuously innovates to stay ahead of emerging threats, delivering value to customers across various domains.

Securing Customer Environments

  • Deep inspection and classification of clean, malicious, or spam email
